Maiden Book Tour and Giveaway

Two young friends on the brink of adulthood find that their preconceived destinies walk a much different path than planned. For Marta and Jayme, their friendship is tested to the point where they both lose hope of ever being together again.

In Teresa Harrison’s novel, Maiden – The Ligthwalkers Series, childhood best friends Marta and Jayme must separate in order to find their own paths to eventually reunite again. One walks the destiny as a magical healer, the other must fight the evils that could ruin both their lives and the lives of their loved ones.

Maiden is a light-hearted story, told with vivid imagery and imagination. The two best friends are very different from each other yet quite similar as well. Both of them want what’s best for the world and each other, yet one dire mistake shakes them both apart. What I liked particularly about this story was how Jayme changed from a non-believer of magic to one who embraced it. Marta on the other hand, seemed to always know she had some kind of magic inside her and was more than happy to use her healing abilities to save her people.

Maiden is a young adult fantasy series with elements of old fairy tales drifting throughout the story. You get the immediate sense that Marta and Jayme are wholly devoted to each other yet Jayme was guided down the wrong path. Enemies in this story were well written and the descriptions of the Fae and other magical creatures were a delight to read. I recommend Maiden for ages 13 and up.
